About the role
The Production Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Refining and Material Preparation Departments at Johnson Matthey. This position involves preparing safe work permits, performing Lock-out Tag-out of equipment, supporting with day-to-day administrative duties, and facilitating maintenance work.
Responsibilities
- Review workflows, set priorities and perform a wide variety of assignments with minimal supervision.
- Prepare production samples for QC analysis and collect and maintain product retain samples.
- Support in root cause investigations and problem-solving activities related to product/process failures.
- Review completed batch sheets for errors and completeness and work with operators to resolve any recurring issues.
- Perform lockout/tagout of equipment for maintenance, and complete permit to work forms.
- Work cross-functionally with the maintenance team to schedule work, ensuring that both production and maintenance needs are met.
- Work cross-functionally with the QC, QA, and Supply Chain teams to ensure that all departments understand priorities and needs.
- Conduct line-tracing activities to ensure P&ID accuracy.
- Update procedures under the direction of process engineering.
- Support data collection for supply chain scheduling and engineering activities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years’ clerical experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on a production floor desirable.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Able to build collaborative relationships to achieve JM goals.
- An in-depth understanding of all support functions with a strong ability to pay attention to details essential.
Key Skills

Pay
Pay Range: $63,000 - $65,000
