Production Specialist

About the role

JELD-WEN is seeking a Production Specialist to assist in providing value-added goods and services to customers. This position is available at American Building Supply, a subsidiary of JELD-WEN, which supplies doors, door hardware, windows, and millwork.

Responsibilities

• Custom stain matching and stain formula control in the stain lab
• Respirator certification requirement
• Hazardous waste certification required for acetone, waste stain, sealer, and top coat
• Specialized training on finish stain/finish paint application
• Sealant application training through SW for proprietary clear finish
• Hazardous/flammable material management certification requirement for all stain storage, mixing, and wasting
• Proprietary training to dyes, dispersions, and colorants for custom color match development utilizing 'StainWare' software proprietary to SW and custom stain formulation
• Training and utilization of LAB reading and graph evaluation for LAB reading and color match consistency
• Read production tag and interpret proper program to run on machine
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety rules
• Routinely check machine setup, tooling, and calibration for routing doors and door components
• Exercise focused mental concentration in the presence of high-speed cutting and milling equipment
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally team lift items exceeding 50 pounds
• Perform mathematical valuations, read and understand technical drawings
• Start of shift preventative maintenance inspection
• Material preparation and material handling
• Other general warehouse duties as needed
• Work overtime as needed to satisfy customer demands

Requirements

Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar environment is preferred, though not required.

Pay

The expected pay for this role is between $27.03 to $29.03 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
