Production Service Technician

About the Role

PCCA is seeking a Production Service Technician to repair, install, adjust, or maintain industrial production and processing machinery. This position involves installing, dismantling, or moving machinery and heavy equipment according to plans, as well as performing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
  • Maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.
  • Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.
  • Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials, as necessary.
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment.
  • Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
  • Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by supporting related organizational projects as needed.
  • Work effectively with peers and departmental managers to ensure an effective flow of communication, materials, and resources.
  • Promote and assure the execution of PCCA values, culture, and quality.
  • Ensure that department objectives align with corporate objectives.
  • Comply with all Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations when discarding non-hazardous and hazardous waste.
  • Comply with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • 5 years or more of experience in a mechanical environment.
  • Experience managing results and performance through metrics and process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPA Section 608 Certification.
  • HVAC Excellence Certification or desire to obtain it.
  • OSHA Certification or desire to obtain it.
  • Certified Water Professional Certification or desire to obtain it.

Physical Requirements

  • Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Bending legs downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
  • Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
  • Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner.
  • Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
  • Ascending or descending stairs, ramps, ladders, scaffolding, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
