Production & Purchasing Coordinator

About the role

Sjogren Industries is seeking a Production & Purchasing Coordinator to join our manufacturing team in Worcester. This is a hands on position supporting purchasing, production control, order management, accounting administration, and employee administration. The role works closely with our Plant Manager and serves as an important point of coordination between Production, Sales, Accounting, Management, employees, customers, and vendors. We are looking for someone with manufacturing purchasing experience who is organized, proactive, comfortable working with the production floor, and able to take ownership of responsibilities from start to finish.

We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership and grow with the position. The successful candidate will initially work closely with our Plant Manager to learn Sjogren's systems and processes, with the expectation of taking increasing responsibility for purchasing, production control, vendor management, and operational coordination over time.

Responsibilities

• Purchase raw materials, components, supplies, and outside services required for production
• Manage purchase orders, blanket orders, shortages, recurring requirements, vendor pricing, and material delivery dates
• Communicate with suppliers regarding quotations, availability, delivery schedules, and purchasing issues
• Generate and maintain production work orders and related ERP records
• Monitor material and job status throughout production and follow up on open or late items
• Assist the Plant Manager with
