Production Planning Specialist

About the Role

Production Planning Specialist Associates create master specifications, general material specifications, production jobs, and work instructions to communicate customer order details per item specifications. They review and update specifications as needed and assist other Supply Chain Team members to achieve objectives. In their absence, responsibilities are covered by another Production Planning Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Create production jobs for all New, Repeat with change, Repeat, and Trial jobs.
• Develop general material specifications for new products or revisions to existing products.
• Assemble work instructions to communicate customer needs and expectations in an easy-to-understand format for all production departments.
• Review and approve work instructions for production.
• Develop and maintain master estimates for all product types.
• Perform technical reviews of artwork and specifications to ensure accuracy in product development.
• Conduct post-production analysis and implement necessary changes to items or master specifications.
• Participate in continuous improvement of information systems.
• Generate and embrace improvement ideas to enhance business operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or a closely related technical field preferred.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy for information system inputs.
• Guided by core values such as customer service, continuous improvement, energetic attitude, and sense of urgency.
• Previous flexographic printing experience and mechanical aptitude/experience are highly preferred.
• Previous production experience in an industrial environment with related safety training is preferred.
• Proficiency in Windows computing programs and business operating systems required.
• Able to create, proofread, and understand work instructions, and provide verbal direction for task completion.
• Flexibility in work assignments and priorities to address dynamic customer and production needs.

Working Conditions

• Able to lift 30 to 40 pounds.
• Able to sit at a workstation for most of the shift.
• No travel required.
