About the Role
The Production Planning Manager leads and manages daily, weekly, and monthly work streams across inbound, outbound, and returns processing. This role ensures integration and coordination of production plans with leadership to meet goals, objectives, and KPI targets. Responsibilities include identifying and resolving operational issues, interacting with customers to review performance and capacity, and facilitating continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and coordinate production plans with fulfillment center leadership to meet business goals and KPI targets.
- Identify, root cause, and resolve issues throughout the operational flow.
- Interact with customers to review operational performance, capacity constraints, and throughput management.
- Assist in facilitating and implementing continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure associates comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines for safe and efficient operations.
- Partner with the Operations Team to execute resource and capacity planning to meet KPI metrics, service levels, productivity targets, and labor efficiency.
- Plan, manage, and adjust workload and shift schedules to optimize fulfillment center resources.
- Create and implement predictive analytics based on site trends and forecasts.
- Compare predicted plans and actual results with customer-provided forecasts.
- Plan and manage fulfillment and returns processing activities to meet customer expectations for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
- Develop and implement action plans to address performance concerns or improve operations.
- Maintain communication with operations departments and customer planning to address business priorities and risks.
- Support and facilitate continuous improvement projects throughout the fulfillment distribution center.
- Manage standard and ad-hoc reporting for production planning and communication.
- Oversee budget, goals, and specific business requirements.
- Communicate, apply, and enforce company philosophies, strategies, policies, and expectations.
- Maximize quality and productivity by evaluating performance variances and identifying root causes for corrective actions.
- Provide guidance on conveyor safety, sanitation, quality, customer service, and maintenance.
- Deliver associate orientation, training, performance reviews, and development as needed.
- Ensure associates have proper access to tools and equipment, and that they are routinely inspected and maintained.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, required.
- 1-3 years of logistics industry experience, required.
- 2-4 years of experience in a supervisory or management role, required.
- 1-3 years of customer service or fulfillment center planning, required.
