Production Planner
About the role
Join the Terex Utilities team in Watertown, SD as a Production Planner. You will play a pivotal role in planning material delivery to best support production, reviewing material availability, escalating shortages, and coordinating unit builds. Manage system work orders and dates to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a safe and organized workplace
- Review Clear To Build data to coordinate planned machine builds on the lines
- Release, reschedule, and complete related work orders
- Ensure each work area has the appropriate materials available to start and execute jobs
- Assist in planning item attributes data in TMS
- Establish material delivery planning and backflush locations in TMS
- Manage bypass reports and order parts from CLI
- Analyze material flow problems, determine causes, and implement corrective actions (e.g., proper station coding, 2-bin setup, mistake-proofing order/distribution processes)
- Identify and eliminate waste within inventory materials processes
- Requisition materials when applicable
- Maintain, audit, and improve Standard Work
- Train and cross-train other employees in materials processes
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years of material inventory experience
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, computer, and math)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and computer systems aptitude
- Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures
- Commitment to safety, quality, and the principles of Lean Manufacturing
- Enthusiasm for working “hands-on” in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated analytical mindset and problem-solving skills

Pay
The compensation range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00 per hour, based on factors including education, work experience, and certifications.
