Production Planner

We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business. The Production Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production forecasts for Operations. This role ensures alignment between production capacity, feed gas and power availability, maintenance, and shipping schedules, whilst maximizing safe, reliable, and efficient production.
The Production Planner will work closely with cross-functional teams and report to the Snr. Manager of Production Optimization. The role is based at RGLNG in Brownsville, TX.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and long-term production schedules and plans.
- Collaborate with optimization engineers to incorporate operational insights and performance data into production forecasts.
- Support LNG Inventory Management through proactive collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Marine, and Commercial Operations Teams to minimize operational and inventory risks, review shipping schedules, and safely and efficiently maximize production in alignment with operational goals and constraints.
- Incorporate Integrate Activity Plans (IAPs) from maintenance into production forecasts whilst ensuring effective SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) planning.
- Forecast feed gas and power availability to support production planning and energy efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all planning activities.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on production plans, performance, variances, and key metrics to internal stakeholders and leadership.
- Utilize NextDecade’s NextSys Production Management Planning tools for forecasting, scenario modeling, and schedule optimization.
- Manage updates, configuration, and continuous improvements of dedicated planning software tools to ensure alignment with operational needs and best practices.
- Support the preparation and submission of required regulatory reports in coordination with compliance and environmental teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production planning in LNG or oil & gas, or petrochemical industries.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams), Project and Visio.
- Experience using CMMs platforms for maintenance planning and coordination.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, safety-critical environment.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with LNG terminal inventory management and operational processes.
- Working knowledge of feed gas supply dynamics and power demand forecasting.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FERC, TCEQ, PHMSA, and MARPOL.

Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.

Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits.
Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.
Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios.
