About the role
The Production Planner will play a key role in analyzing ERP data, developing schedules, and coordinating workflow across multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Extract and analyze data from ERP and other systems to forecast and support production needs.
- Create, update, and maintain schedules across multiple departments.
- Generate work orders and set priorities based on company demand and projected requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels across various stages of manufacturing and leverage information to determine job sizes, priorities and raw material re-order points.
- Identify and communicate scheduling conflicts with management throughout the production process.
- Auxiliary Material Handlers with production-related needs.
- Utilize Epicor to track the status of jobs, resolving discrepancies and updating the production team accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify/remove bottlenecks to ensure seamless supply to the production team.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent; additional education in supply chain, business, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills required.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new software programs, including ERP systems.
- 5+ Years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong decision-making skills in dynamic, high-pressure manufacturing environments.
Physical And Work Environment Requirements
- This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may require the following over extended periods of time up to a full 8-hour work shift (excluding lunch and breaks): stand, walk, sit, squat or bend, kneel and rise, lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to — and occasionally exceeding — 50 pounds, view a computer or other digital screen, work on a computer, workstation or comparable system, and make accurate entries in such systems.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are required for detailed assembly and precision work.
- Work may take place in areas with varying temperatures or no climate control, varying noise levels, and production equipment in motion.
- Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas at all times as required by company policy.
