Maintenance and Repair
This role involves the efficient and timely maintenance and repair of injection molding tools and equipment to minimize production downtime and maximize the lifespan and performance of the tools.
- Planning, coordinating, and overseeing all maintenance activities
- Ensuring proper allocation of resources
- Maintaining a smooth workflow between the tool shop and the production floor
Responsibilities
- Create detailed maintenance schedules for tooling, including preventive and corrective maintenance
- Independently carry out order planning for tool maintenance in the system provided for this purpose (e.g. MES)
- Independently coordinate and prioritize scheduling with internal and external tool shops
- Hold tool shops accountable for timeline through email communication and escalation to managers when necessary
- Work closely with production teams to minimize disruptions, ensuring that tools are serviced during downtime or according to production needs
- Allocate labor, equipment, and materials effectively to meet maintenance timelines
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, tool performance, and any repairs or adjustments made
- Reporting information from scheduling, including on-time, past due, and overall with trending data
- Independently preparing internal information and passing it on to the relevant departments (e.g. managers, requisitioners, etc.)
Qualifications
- Knowledge acquired as part of a 3-year technical apprenticeship and extended by means of advanced training to become a technician or master craftsman
- At least 3 years of experience in a comparable function in the field of injection molds
Skills
- Excel experience is a must
