Production Planner

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule assigned product lines based on production capacity & material availability.
• Schedule and issue Assembly work orders to support manufacturing and spare parts requirements.
• Conduct a final review of material availability prior to placing work orders into production.
• Rewire production schedule as necessary based on the availability of material and/or labor.
• Ensure planning parameters and production capacity support projected demand within competitive lead times.
• Aid Assembly Manager in preparing daily/weekly build plans to achieve monthly shipment goals.
• Cook with Customer Service regarding delivery promises, new customer orders, past due orders and customer inquiries.
• Evaluate production schedule to identify opportunities to shorten customer leadtimes.
• Analyze demand patterns to identify trends that may require changes to capacity planning.
• Maintain Item Master Data based on historical and forecasted data.
• Communicate and own product line(s) production schedule, changes, capacity issues, and supply/inventory issues with manufacturing and related departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in related field (production planning, scheduling, materials management).
• ERP/MRP expertise required.
• Proficient with MS office & excel in particular.

Preferred

• Good communicator and team member.
• Machine Shop Experience (preferred).
• Experience with Power BI programming.
