Production Planner
About the role
A Production Planner located in Columbia, SC is needed to help materials and production functions. They will plan, schedule, coordinate, and approve product releases to production planning systems based on material and capacity availability.
Responsibilities
- Assess order fulfillment feasibility based on material, labor, and capacity availability; confirm orders and release clean-to-build work orders.
- Develop, maintain, and execute short- and long-term production plans, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and forecasts, and update planning data in ERP systems.
- Maintain inventory levels, monitor plan execution, and address deviations, shortages, and schedule risks.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Master Scheduling, and Customer Focus Teams to manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), rescheduling, product lifecycle changes, and customer priorities.
- Prepare operational, management, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports; support order desk activities, customer programs, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 3 - 5 years of related experience, preferably in the Power Distribution Industry.
- Demonstrated basic people and/or process management skills.
- Proven expertise in production scheduling, with working knowledge of ERP or MRP systems.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (EA42 SS26 AA01 CH12 MS14 CC11 EC37 PF38 JS21 NV60 FL75).
