Constellium Van Buren is a state-of-the-art production facility producing customized aluminum automotive structures and crash management systems for OEM customers, featuring advanced development and prototyping capabilities. Located in metro Detroit, the plant collaborates closely with OEM customers and suppliers to meet precise performance specifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop production schedules for manufacturing and assembly areas, enter jobs, and measure schedule attainment.
- Attend the plant daily Flash Meeting and report customer and supplier concerns.
- Facilitate and display the daily Flow board review.
- Develop short-term and long-term production plans by updating the Netting File daily/weekly.
- Perform annual Item Parameter Reviews on all WIP assemblies and finished goods.
- Monitor customer releases and forecasts to align production plans with fluctuating demand.
- Collaborate with the Supplier Planner to ensure raw materials and components are available to support production schedules.
- Analyze production capacity, labor availability, machine utilization, and material constraints when creating production plans.
- Adjust schedules in response to customer demand changes, equipment downtime, material shortages, quality concerns, or other operational disruptions.
- Monitor production performance and schedule adherence, identifying and resolving issues impacting delivery commitments.
- Collaborate with Production Supervisors and Operations Management to prioritize jobs and maximize manufacturing efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production planning data within ERP/MRP systems.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including schedule attainment, inventory levels, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery.
- Follow ISO 14001, 9001, 45001, IATF 16949, and other regulatory requirements.
- Serve as backup for the Customer Demand & Forecast Analyst and/or Supplier Planner when they are out of the office.
- Coordinate equipment outages with Engineering and Maintenance.
- Perform all other assigned duties necessary to support job functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred, or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of three years of materials scheduling experience in a Tier 1 automotive facility preferred.
- Experience working with OEM customer releases and demand schedules preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience with supplier planning/ordering preferred.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-resolution skills required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
- Proficient with MRP systems; PLEX experience required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.
- Frequent interaction with manufacturing floor personnel.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
- Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment.
- Exposure to production equipment, moving machinery, and varying noise levels.
- Occasional extended hours may be required to support customer requirements and production demands.
