Production Planner
Dover Precision Components is hiring a Production Planner for our Waukesha Bearings brand. Waukesha Bearings is a leading designer and manufacturer of hydrodynamic fluid film bearings, active magnetic bearing systems, and seals for high-performing turbomachinery and rotating equipment in oil & gas, power generation, marine, military, and industrial markets. This role is based at our manufacturing facility in Antigo, Wisconsin. Due to our government client, US Citizenship is required.
About the role
The Production Planner is responsible for creating and managing the master production plan. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams—including manufacturing, purchasing, and customer service—to forecast demand, schedule production, and ensure timely order fulfillment. The Production Planner monitors order flow, adjusts production schedules, and ensures material availability to meet customer delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the master production schedule based on customer orders, forecasts, and capacity constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production schedules with material availability, lead times, and operational capacity.
- Monitor order progress through the shop floor and adjust schedules and routings as needed to meet delivery commitments.
- Communicate production schedule changes or delays to all relevant stakeholders.
- Analyze forecast data and manufacturing constraints to identify opportunities for production smoothing and efficiency gains.
- Release materials from stockroom or staging areas to support scheduled orders.
- Print, assemble, and distribute job packets to designated value streams.
- Close job orders daily for assigned value streams to maintain accurate system records.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to scheduling, materials flow, and production planning processes.
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in manufacturing and/or demand planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills for managing production plans and analyzing data.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must have a sense of urgency and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen (due to ITAR/UNNPI regulations).
Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field is preferred.
