Production Planner

About the role

We are seeking an energetic, proactive, and highly detail-oriented Production Planner to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will combine strong production planning and organizational skills with an interest in advanced technology, automation, and AI tools that can improve manufacturing efficiency. This is a hands-on position. The Production Planner will work closely with production, warehouse, purchasing, inventory, logistics, and management teams to coordinate schedules, anticipate potential problems, and keep production running efficiently. The position requires regular presence on the factory floor and in our warehouses. Candidates must be comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment and physically able to move throughout production and warehouse facilities as part of their daily responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production plans using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as SAP to align with demand forecasts and capacity constraints.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and smooth production flow.
• Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and support lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Monitor production progress daily, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality control.
• Analyze supply chain data and manufacturing metrics to support continuous improvement efforts and drive operational excellence.
• Lead plant management activities related to production scheduling, resource allocation, and process optimization.
• Collaborate on process improvement projects focused on automation, assembly line enhancements, and implementing AI-driven solutions for smarter manufacturing.

Experience

• Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing environment, preferably involving advanced tech or AI applications.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms used for production planning and supply chain management.
• Mechanical knowledge or background in manufacturing equipment, assembly processes, or plant operations is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze supply chain analytics data to inform decision-making and optimize operations management.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing costs.
