About the role
A Production Planner manages the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines. Duties include managing material and equipment availability, scheduling production, and monitoring the production process for problems.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate production of the company's products in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
- Evaluate raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production.
- Execute Manufacturing Resource Planning using MRP system.
- Stage materials orders, picking, kitting, work orders, and stocking levels based on production demands.
- Effect changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
- Promptly inform relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
- Compile status and performance reports and submit them to management in a timely manner.
- Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production.
- Maintain capacity models.
- Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis or in accordance with posted schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
- 3–7 years working experience in production planning and scheduling.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MRP processes and systems.
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
Skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing requirements and Material Resource Planning (MRP).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with computerized materials control programs and MRP systems.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
