About the Role
A Production Team Member is responsible for assisting in the production and filling of paint, ensuring quality standards, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves working closely with the entire team, operating machinery, and handling raw materials to produce paint that meets company specifications. The role is pivotal in ensuring efficiency, productivity, and alignment with the company's strategic goals, encompassing phases from pulling raw materials, producing batches, quality control of finished goods, to filling into proper packaging. The Production Batch maker has three levels, each allowing the team member to produce a more diverse range of paints and job functions, with testing required within one year from start date.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor paint mixing, blending, and packaging equipment (Level 1+).
- Measure, weigh, and mix raw materials according to specified formulations (Level 1+).
- Adjust mixer and filling machine settings to ensure consistency in product quality (Level 1+).
- Conduct quality control checks, such as color matching and viscosity testing (Level 1+).
- Record production data and report any deviations or defects in the company’s ERP (Level 1+).
- Ensure compliance with product specifications and standards per fill ticket and lab direction (Trainee+).
- Store and organize raw materials and finished products (Trainee+).
- Load and unload materials safely, using forklifts or pallet jacks (Trainee+).
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear PPE (personal protective equipment) (Trainee+).
- Handle chemicals in compliance with company and regulatory guidelines (Trainee+).
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace (Trainee+).
- Work collaboratively with other production team members and supervisors (Trainee+).
- Communicate effectively to resolve issues and meet production targets (Level 1+).
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions (Trainee+).
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the Production Supervisor and Building Manager (Trainee+).
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues (Level 1+).
- Ensure all cleaning and disinfecting policies are adhered to (Trainee+).
- Compile production records in ERP on a timely fashion (Level 1+).
- Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements (Level 1+).
- Collaborate with Warehouse Team Members to ensure production needs are met and inventory is sufficient.
- Produce daily needs in a timely fashion to meet shipping date targets.
- Work with Lab to address production and quality concerns and learn QC procedures.
- Follow the daily schedule as Production Planner to meet shipment needs and communicate any delays.
- Coordinate with Sales Team Members to ensure the highest quality paint is produced efficiently and advise them of any delays.
Success Metrics
- Growing profitability within production operations by reducing costs through improved operations, elimination of waste, and other efficiencies.
- Widespread adoption of processes by production team members.
- Increasing knowledge and competence within the production teams.
- First‑hit KPI above set target; production KPI (scheduled vs. actual) above set target.
Requirements
- Must be able to complete and pass Pioneer’s Safety Training Program.
- Communicate with all team members daily through coaching, educating, or providing feedback.
Pay
USD $19 – $26 per hour (Cleveland).
