Primary Responsibilities

  • Cuts, packages, and repackages products to customer specifications.
  • Takes soft and hard cheeses, olives, and nuts from vendors' containers and re-sizes or packages them to meet customer specifications.
  • Re-packages butter or dairy goods into smaller containers or units.
  • Uses hand-held cutting tools and knives, hydraulic cutting machine, and scales to customize products.
  • Re-packages cheeses for “dip sealing” or heat tunnel preparation.
  • Operates Cryovac, x-ray, scale, heat tunnel, box tape, and sealing machine for labeling, weighing, preparing, and packaging goods.
  • Transports products from clean room using carts, U-boats, L-boats, or pallet jack.
  • Unboxes vendor goods and disassembles boxes for recycling.
  • Assembles boxes in Cut and Wrap room for re-packaging products.
  • Boxes products to prepare for shipping to the customer.
  • Manually wraps soft cheese products using saran wrap and heat sealer.
  • Applies knowledge of and follows proper food safety protocol for working in the exposed food area including Don/Doff smocks, hairnets, sleeves, steel toe shoes, and gloves.
  • Applies knowledge of product and client specifications to understand product shape, sizes, and weight requirements for individual orders.
  • Tolerates cold environment (38-54 degrees) for prolonged periods of time.
  • Uses cleansers and rags to sanitize work area in between product changes.
  • Handles water hose, soap, chemicals, brushes, and brooms to perform daily room cleansing.
  • Repackages nuts, olives, and brine into containers for product shipping.
  • Handles stainless steel baskets to dip bagged cheese for sealing.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • A High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse atmosphere preferred.
  • Previous experience operating powered warehouse industrial equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.) preferred.
  • The ability to communicate well with internal customers and management.
  • The ability to follow safe warehouse working practices, as instructed.
  • The ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision within the warehouse.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to carry, lift, and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and climbing in the warehouse.
  • Exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm.

Pay

Full-time Pay Range: $19.11/Hr. - $19.11/Hr.

Schedule

Shift Days: M-F
Shift Time: 6:00 AM
