Under the direction of a supervisor or team leader, the production operator is responsible for changeovers, operating, packing, loading, and preparing assigned equipment and machinery to meet production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Properly changeover, disassemble, clean, reassemble, and operate all production-related equipment in the assigned department in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operate necessary machinery related to the job classification, including documentation of processing steps in batch records or other required paperwork (e.g., initial setup, raw material usage, quality/weight checks, and finished product quantity).
  • Set up, operate, and adjust programmable logic control (PLC) equipment for each batch formulation (minimum 10 or more daily).
  • Break down, clean, tool, set up, and prepare solutions for equipment as required.
  • Pull, deliver, and stage all materials needed; complete stock and raw/in-process/finished material transfers.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor equipment, including hand tools, viscosity meters, pneumatic equipment, pressers, melters, coaters, blenders, technophars, turret lifts, dust removers, part washers, hoppers, mills, and solution tanks.
  • Utilize Mettler moisture analyzers to perform moisture checks on core products.
  • Adhere to work instructions to ensure consistent material generation per customer specifications in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Utilize the company ERP system for inventory transactions, scanning, label creation, verifying additions to batch records, and data entry.
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) to log production outputs, create product start-up documents, and record relative standard deviations (RSDs), friability, disintegration, reliability/quality testing.
  • Operate power equipment such as forklifts, hand tools, and other warehouse devices (e.g., electric jacks, sit-down, stand-up, and cherry picker forklifts).
  • Monitor and adjust machine parameters to maintain finished product quality and ensure proper machine operation.
  • Ensure codes/lots and finished products are not mixed.
  • Remove and reconcile excess and unused materials.
  • Perform calibrations to keep all parameters in specification.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance, clean-up during operation, quick clean between lots, and full clean when required.
  • Run machines at 80% of target rate consistently and achieve 95% or better quality performance.
  • Adhere to safety and health standards, including no direct threat to health or safety, regular attendance, and following company escalation protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including overtime as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 to 6 months of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Ability to maintain a clean work environment, including hygiene practices.
  • Proper labeling of finished products and completion of necessary documentation (e.g., batch records).
  • Knowledge and understanding of cGMP and other regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Establish and follow job-specific safety procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for transactions, data entry, and use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence in English.
  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Commitment to safety, including active participation in health and safety activities and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Pay

$17.00/hour + $0.90 shift differential.

Schedule

Monday - Thursday, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM (shift lengths may vary from 8 to 12 hours depending on the assigned area).
