Production Operator I - Assembly- All Shifts

Essential Functions

• Reads and understands simple blueprints and sketches.
• Makes parts according to blueprints and Operator Inspection Instructions (OII).
• Inspects parts as directed by OII, teachers, set-up persons, lead-persons, or supervisors using tools like tape measure, caliper, micrometer, protractor, and documents findings.
• Returns pattern, check fixtures, and documentation forms to proper locations after completing production operations.
• Cleans machines or performs other assigned duties.
• Operates various types and sizes of stamping presses and other machines as instructed.
• Enters time/payroll information and job details using software programs.
• Maintains daily maintenance/safety checklists for equipment being operated.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 18 years of age.
• Passes a math and blueprint test with at least 85% accuracy.
• Recent mechanical and shop experience with relevant skills and abilities.
• Knowledge of production process equipment, materials, methods, and practices.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
• Average math skills and mechanical ability.

Physical Demands

The work environment involves occasional standing, walking, sitting, handling/finger use, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, and adjusting focus. The noise level is usually moderate, and exposure to weather conditions and moderate noise levels is common.

Compensation

Salary Range: OTC4: $20.65 - 28.89 per hour. The range is set based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. Additional compensation such as bonuses, health benefits, vacation, 401(K) match, etc., may apply.
