Production Operator B
Position Summary
The Production Operator is responsible for operating trim coil machinery, producing and packaging finished products, maintaining production records, ensuring product quality, and supporting a safe manufacturing environment. This role provides critical cross-functional support, operating in the Drip Edge and Pipe Shop departments as business needs dictate.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a strong awareness of safety principles, strictly adhering to all standards and procedures.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suitable for an industrial environment.
- Maintain general shop cleanliness and organization to ensure a safe workspace for the team.
- Safely meet physical demands, including standing for long periods and climbing stairs or ladders.
Delivery & Customer Excellence
- Pack and box finished products securely to ensure pristine condition upon customer delivery.
- Demonstrate scheduling flexibility, working overtime, nights, or weekends to meet customer demand.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Efficiently operate trim coil machines to meet daily manufacturing production targets.
- Cross-train and flexibly adapt to support operations in the Drip Edge and Pipe Shop departments.
- Execute other operational and manufacturing duties as assigned by leadership.
Quality & Inventory Management
- Perform thorough quality control inspections to ensure final products meet company standards.
- Identify, report, and proactively address defective, damaged, or nonconforming products.
- Accurately record all production outputs, raw material usage, and job-related data.
Business Partnership
- Maintain mandatory good standing with Local 169 union requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across multiple shop departments to support overarching business goals.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous manufacturing or industrial experience is preferred.

- Previous experience working in a fast-paced operational, industrial, or team-centered environment.

Work Conditions
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment, forklifts, and warehouse traffic.
- Full-time role requiring operational flexibility, including potential overtime, night, and weekend shifts.
- Moderate to high noise levels are common in production areas.
Physical Requirements
- Requires regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, as well as squatting and climbing throughout manufacturing and warehouse environments.
- Ability to lift products or exert force up to 20 lbs. for 2/3 or more of the workday, and up to 50 lbs. for up to 1/3 of the workday.
- Ability to visually inspect products, equipment, and work areas.
