About the role

Manufacture products utilizing primary and secondary processing equipment or hand assembly. Following all procedures and work instructions, achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety assuring internal and external customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Operate molding press/equipment per Company procedures
  • Review job standards before running production
  • Assure product meets established quality criteria of zero non-conformances
  • Correctly record scrap every hour per work instructions
  • Correct application of all internal and external labels when requires, including removal of all old labels from returnable packaging
  • Correct application of lot control numbers
  • Review daily of all applicable quality alerts
  • Immediately notify Production Supervisor of all discrepancies to established quality checks or any condition identified to be out of the normal operating condition
  • Communicate production and quality issues/concerns with associates during staff meetings
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas
  • Participate in team problem solving activities (communication meetings, shift meetings, etc.,) and continuous improvement activities
  • Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety and environmental procedures
  • Wear required PPE (safety glasses, ear plugs, close toed shoes/boots with rubber sole base)
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Education and experience

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills

  • Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Reasoning ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, or schedule form.

Physical demands

  • Stand on feet at least 8 hours/day and use hands to touch, handle, or feel
  • Occasionally required to talk or hear; and stop, kneel, or crouch
  • Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms
  • May be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must have good attendance and be able to work overtime as required

Work environment

  • Tasks are performed both indoors and outdoors in a manufacturing environment
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Must not wear any loose fitting clothing that may get in the way of the moving machinery
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme heat and vibration
  • Noise level is usually moderate
