Production Operator

Essential Functions

• Makes boxes and waxes cores to be used to fulfill work order requirements on production line.
• Ensures adequate raw material (compound) levels are available to consistently run line.
• Performs first piece, periodic and finished roll quality checks: such as, roll weight, width, footage, stretch, core length, packaging and other quality inspections in accordance with Quality Line Report.
• When applicable, and directed by work order, completes quality check on every roll.
• Aids Production Techs in making changeovers, line thread-ups, screen changes and other set-up tasks needed to get production lines in operation.
• Accurately completes and records production data on work order paperwork.
• All other assignments, general and specific, as directed by Supervision.
• Works safely, cleanly and ethically. Follows all plant PPE requirements, safety rules and policies. Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately.
• Maintains general area housekeeping and records its completion in the daily cleaning logs.
• Fulfills all GMPs to assure food product safety.

Education/Skills/Experience

• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Trained in PVC manufacturing procedures as it relates to the Winder Operator position.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to properly use a tape measure and calculator.
• Reports maintenance and safety issues to shift supervision.
• Ability to safely operate, maintain and perform minor adjustments on heavy equipment.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Must be able to stand for 12 hours per shift except for authorized breaks.
