WHAT WE NEED
The Assistant Production Operator (APO) role is an entry-level position which supports the production process through a variety of activities. Support and adherence to our 5S environment is a key component to all our production roles.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Performs packing, stacking, and inspection requirements for each of the different production lines.
- Prepares packaging for filling at the appropriate line.
- Communicates production concerns to line leaders, supervisors, mechanics, and quality control.
- Completes material handling as needed to keep the line supplied.
- Operates equipment such as labelers, case erectors, case packers.
- Performs and documents verification checks to ensure output of acceptable products accurately.
- Verify proper codes are on all packaging.
- Follow proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) including wearing personal protective equipment.
- Adhere to all safety requirements.
- Aid Operators in meeting line requirements to ensure fluent delivery of cases to the end customer.
- Clean, organize, perform rework, dumps bottles and other tasks associated with driving performance efficiency in the operation of the manufacturing environment.
- Learn 5S standards and help to drive them throughout all assigned activities.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- A high school diploma or GED preferred.
- A continuous learning, and improvement, mindset is a must; there are many opportunities to learn and develop at BRF, but the individual needs to be motivated to engage in those opportunities.
- Effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Willingness to offer suggestions on ways to improve assigned work.
- Ability to follow and implement written or oral instructions.
- Team player and constructive conflict management are key skills for success.
- A self-starter and disciplined.
- Punctuality is a must.
- Motivated to do your best work each day.
- Work in a manufacturing environment, which includes fluctuation in heat, moisture, and noise.
- Wear Food Manufacturing GMP Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, face mask, no facial piercings, false eyelashes or fake fingernails.
- English fluency required to successfully speak, read, write, and comprehend directions in English and communicate with other employees in English as part of regular job duties.
