Production Manager, Publishing
Overview
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Manage the full production lifecycle for publications from manuscript handoff through final print or digital release for a variety of fiction and nonfiction titles across both Paramount’s adult and children’s lists
- Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met across multiple concurrent projects
- Request and review quotes from vendors, prepare pricing estimates, and monitor production specs for adherence to budget
- Cook up coordination with editorial, design, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on timelines, specifications, and deliverables
- Liaise with external partners and vendors to obtain quotes; negotiate competitive pricing
- Manage updates and corrections across systems and partners as needed
- Maintain budgets and control production costs, identifying efficiencies where possible
- Review and route production materials including proofs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand and style guidelines
- Implement and refine workflows, tools, and best practices to improve operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with publishing standards, accessibility requirements, and technical specifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ experience in publishing production or managing editorial environments
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Deep knowledge of print production processes, including prepress, file formats, and distribution channels; digital experience a plus
- Experience working with content management systems and production tracking tools
- Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

Hiring Salary Range: $85,000.00 - 100,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This position is bonus eligible.
