Production Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the role
This Production Manager will join the company's Las Cruces, New Mexico operation — the largest processing facility of its kind in the world. You'll have overall responsibility for production departments encompassing processing, filling, labeling, and packaging.
You'll be joining an operation that matters — producing food ingredients at significant scale for customers around the world. The role offers strong purchasing power in a market where the cost of living is about 9% below the national average, with median home values around $232K. The position includes a $90K–$120K base salary plus a 15% bonus.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop salaried and hourly production employees
- Develop supervisors and other members of the production leadership team
- Manage production performance against established KPIs
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, service, efficiency, waste, and cost
- Optimize labor, materials, and production capacity
- Manage production schedules to achieve inventory and customer requirements
- Partner with Quality to maintain GMP, HACCP, and food-safety requirements
- Work closely with Maintenance, Warehouse, Facilities, and other Operations leaders
- Support production budgets and analyze financial performance
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Participate in capital investment and plant improvement projects
- Maintain audit and inspection readiness
- Develop and maintain SOPs
- Support sanitation and food-safety programs
- Build a strong culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- 4+ years of food manufacturing leadership experience
- Proven success leading and developing production teams
- Experience managing production budgets, costs, and financial performance
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and food-safety requirements
- Experience using production KPIs to improve performance
- Continuous improvement experience
- SAP or comparable ERP experience
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred
