Production Manager

About the role

Tuff Shed is recruiting for an experienced and motivated Production Manager to contribute to the success of our manufacturing facility. This role offers the opportunity for professional growth and the chance to make a real impact on the company.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the Production Foreman and production employees
• Performing various manual tasks on a regular basis that are associated with the Store’s Operations function, including loading trucks, fabricating buildings, operating a forklift, picking up and delivering materials to job sites, etc.
• Overseeing daily planning/scheduling of the Operations team’s labor and materials
• Partnering with Store management to recruit for Production roles, including Prefabricators
• Ensuring tools and equipment are secured, inventoried, and maintained; meeting Tuff Shed safety requirements
• Overseeing hardware allocation and inventory
• Occasionally performing customer service duties such as resolving warranty issues by repairing products at job sites
• Inspecting completed buildings periodically and providing feedback to Subcontractors and Operations team employees on job performance, safety, and quality concerns
• Performing production safety training and participating in national safety conference calls alongside the Operations Manager
• Conducting work-related injury investigations and follow-up as directed by the Store Manager (GM/DM)
• Assisting with performance management, career development, and disciplinary action for production team members when needed
• Resolving work problems among Store production employees while keeping the GM/DM informed of final decisions
• Assisting the GM/DM in performing monthly cycle counts and ongoing inventory management

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of construction or manufacturing experience, preferred
• Significant experience in safety management
• Experience supervising employees and resolving employee relations issues
• Hands-on experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume retail or operations environment with an organization recognized for quality products and service

Skills

• Hands-on computer skills in Microsoft Office and Internet applications; experience with Customer Relations Management (CRM) software (e.g., Oracle, JDE, Onyx, Salesforce.com, Goldmine) is highly preferred
• Ability to solve problems using sound logic and good business judgment
• Proficiency in arithmetic, mathematical, accounting, and financial tools as they apply to Tuff Shed business
• Ability to read, write, and understand instructions given orally, in writing, or in diagram form
• Ability to prepare written correspondence and reports that create a professional image for Tuff Shed
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including with customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the public
