Position Overview
Job Description
- Provide recording and live sound services for special university events in Murphy Hall.
- Educate and assist faculty, staff, and students on proper recording and live sound techniques upon request.
- Aid the Technical Director, assistant recording engineer, and external production entities in recording and editing album recordings.
- Research and plan for upcoming live sound upgrades; recommend upgrades to improve quality and efficiency.
- Liaise with the Technical Director for repairs in School of Music Performance venues and audio/visual gear.
- Support recruitment efforts and serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
- Attend interdepartmental production and planning meetings, as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency with four years of experience in sound engineering technology OR Associates degree in sound design or related field of study and 2 years of experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in sound design or related field of study.
- Minimum of two years of experience in mixing, digital editing, and use of recording machines and related devices.
- One year of supervisory experience.
