Production Manager
About the role
At TDP Bakery, we bring fresh, never-frozen bakery products to thousands of locations every night. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a hands-on Production Manager to lead our overnight production team and help deliver the quality, safety, and efficiency our customers expect.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support daily bakery production operations
- Ensure production, quality, safety, and labor goals are achieved
- Coach, develop, and motivate production team members and leads
- Manage staffing, workflow, and shift priorities to meet production schedules
- Monitor product quality and compliance with GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Identify and resolve production, staffing, quality, and equipment issues
- Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Sanitation, and other departments to minimize downtime and improve performance
- Maintain accurate production, labor, and operational records
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity, reduce waste, and strengthen safety performance
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams
- Prior 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, food production, or bakery operations
- Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience
- Experience with production reporting, labor tracking, inventory control, or downtime management
- Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Experience in high-volume food manufacturing environments
Qualifications
- FSMA or PCQI certification
- Bonus: Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
- Experience with ERP or production management systems
- Exposure to FDA, USDA, SQF, AIB, or customer audit requirements
Benefits
Full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week
Shift begins at 1:00 AM
Availability for occasional extended shifts, weekends, and overtime as business needs require
