About the role

SSW Advanced Technologies, LLC is a growing multinational supplier to the global appliance OEMs. With more than 70 years of expertise and innovation, we design and sell components and systems to the residential appliance industry (refrigeration, cooking, laundry), commercial refrigeration, HVAC, retail display, and home/office organizational markets.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures continuous improvement and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Performs special inspections in case of machine faults to locate causes of failure.
  • Schedules the execution of repairs by internal or external bodies.
  • Informs self and management team about new technological developments.
  • Submits proposals to improve manufacturing machining.
  • Executes and examines the testing of new pilot facilities/equipment and new manufacturing methods.
  • Decides on the implementation of new methods as well as the use and purchase of new production machining.
  • Leads, promotes, and motivates employees within the area of responsibility, including performance appraisal, goal setting, successor and representative planning, personnel development, and training measures.
  • Ensures adherence to and monitoring of legal laws and internal regulations concerning Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) in the organizational unit.
  • Occasionally involved in the development of new EHS concepts and directives in close cooperation with the EHS site advisor.
  • Ensures implementation of EHS concepts in the area of responsibility and provides corresponding instruction and training for employees.
  • Designs processes according to the principle of Lean Manufacturing and ensures these are executed and observed in the organizational unit.
  • Ensures the manufacturing environment fully understands Lean Manufacturing principles and registers employees for relevant training courses or skill-refreshing activities.
  • Ensures plant standards are applied in Lean Manufacturing for new hires and transfers.
  • Registers employees for mandatory training courses and offers additional dedicated training measures if necessary.
  • Stays informed about current training offerings and new developments in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Reports to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a focus on fabrication, production, maintenance, or logistics.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles and practices; optional training in Six Sigma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for data analysis, communication, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor supervisors and team leads for continuous improvement.
  • Basic understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and practices.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive results, manage resources effectively, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Detailed and hands-on oriented.

Working Conditions

  • Office and manufacturing plant environment.
  • Physical ability may include standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, and working in areas that are not climate-controlled for long periods.
  • Frequently indoors; occasionally exposed to fumes and loud noises.
