Production Manager
Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC is a leading manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label charcoal, manufactured fire logs, fire building products, matches, and toothpicks. The company also produces railroad cross ties and offers a full suite of grilling products, including charcoal briquettes, all-natural lump charcoal, fire starters, and brands like Pine Mountain, Diamond, and Specialty Wood Products.
About the Role
The Production Manager leads the planning, scheduling, and execution of all manufacturing operations within the plant, ensuring cost-effective production, processing, and shipping of finished goods. This role directly manages Shift Supervisors and oversees the Kiln and Packaging Departments. The Production Manager ensures projects are completed on-time, within budget, with high quality, and uncompromising safety.
Responsibilities
- Train and develop plant machine center operators and support staff to create effective teams and efficient shift production.
- Convert design team outputs into work orders and schedules to meet customer demands.
- Communicate with project managers to prioritize projects and schedule production accordingly.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to accommodate routine and annual maintenance activities.
- Ensure efficient production scheduling to achieve plant production targets.
- Identify opportunities for cost control and implement them with support from the Plant Manager.
- Focus on ongoing process improvement.
- Ensure production meets high quality standards set by the company and project team.
- Promote a safe working environment.
- Manage collection and reporting of production data and KPIs to support special reports as required by the Plant Manager.
- Operate with transparency and earn trust at all levels through communication and actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, both mechanical and electrical.
- Proficient with MS Office suite, experience with Gantt charting, and related tools and technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to stand approximately 75% of work time; sitting at a workstation 25% of the time.
- Must be able to travel 10-15 percent of work time.
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. continuously during shift, including twisting, turning, or bending with or without product in hand.
- Ability to work overtime or on weekends with short notice.
- Ability to work in extreme environmental temperatures.
- Typical production manufacturing facility with concrete floors and moving equipment.
