Production Manager

Key Essential Functions/Duties

• Evaluate production line capacity to allow for accurate standards
• Evaluate processes and procedures and propose improvement ideas
• Strategically partners with the site maintenance department for ongoing production needs
• Champion employee safety and food safety programs drive a solid culture within the department
• Lead a culture that engages production employees at all levels towards performance, efficiency and cost improvement
• Ensure accurate and reliable production performance reporting
• Identify skills gaps across the team and implement training and coaching programs to develop employees, build expertise and close gaps
• Manage and control labor cost to include direct labor, changeovers, overtime, optimized scheduling and crewing rotations for the production team
• Manage and control material cost to include waste, scrap, usages, cycles and product overweight
• Maintain a clean, organized, uncluttered and safe work environment, ready for safety, food safety and customer quality audits
• Select and train new hires for the production department

Qualifications

Experience in production management, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant work experience preferred.

Food Safety Manager Certification is a plus.

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
