Production Manager

About the role
The Production Manager provides leadership and direction for overall production and maintenance operations, fostering a "Culture of Safety" and advising the local business on long-term strategic direction. This role manages and coordinates the production plan to meet delivery schedules and budgeted cost/efficiency expectations, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures asset reliability through predictive/preventative maintenance. The Production Manager is accountable for adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards, and oversees training plans for production and maintenance staff. They also assume plant manager responsibilities as needed.
This position is onsite at our facility in Jacksonville, FL.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain safety and continuous flow production methods with the plant manager.
- Actively seek and implement process improvements, including cost reduction, asset utilization, team balancing, and strategy alignment.
- Drive continuous improvement of leadership, team dynamics, and team pipeline development with the plant manager.
- Approve the daily/weekly production schedule with the scheduler.
- Establish formal and informal communications for staff and employees (e.g., morning safety huddles, mid-day meetings, maintenance planning, and coordination with sales and engineering).
- Ensure proper training of employees through leads and systematic trainers to advance business objectives.
- Optimize plant layout for safety and efficiency.
- Utilize the Inventory Management Process to ensure finished goods inventory meets targets.
- Ensure monthly OSHA compliance training is conducted as scheduled with the EH&S team.
- Engage the safety committee in promoting safety programs and driving improvement toward an Employee Driven, Hazard Controlled environment.
- Oversee the preventative/predictive maintenance program for the facility with the maintenance manager.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of precast processes, equipment, and industry best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 3+ years of leadership experience in an industrial environment leading multiple departments.
- Associate’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Production, or a related field (or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
