About the Role
The Production Manager ensures customer expectations for product delivery and quality are met by executing the production schedule and optimizing resource use. This role fosters a safe, clean, respectful, and rewarding environment for all Production staff while developing and improving manufacturing methods.
Responsibilities
- Work with Scheduling/Customer Service to prioritize manufacturing, balancing capacity, quality, and demand to generate the optimal production schedule.
- Ensure all documentation is complete, accessible, and accurate, including production, scrap, and labor reporting.
- Develop a comprehensive 5-S and Lean Manufacturing program involving all shifts, including Setup Reduction and Standardization.
- Work with Department Managers to ensure compliance with ISO guidelines and drive continuous improvements, such as scrap and Cost of Quality reduction.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to enhance employee relations and build a culture of appreciation for exceptional performance.
- Assist shift supervisors with staff mentoring, coaching, reviewing, recognizing, and rewarding.
- Develop, execute, and maintain a comprehensive training matrix for all staff, highlighting career growth opportunities.
- Lead and direct full shift production activity in the absence of the Shift Supervisor, following sound manufacturing practices.
- Facilitate smooth transitions between shifts at Supervisor, Technician, and Operator levels.
- Confirm correct execution of work cells, setups, processing, and quality submissions.
- Work with the Business Development team to coordinate new program and product launches.
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout for maximum efficiency.
- Use specialized knowledge of Injection Molding to supervise, plan, organize, and assign work to employees operating production equipment.
- Monitor production team output and investigate quality, productivity, machine, and material issues, taking corrective action as needed.
- Prepare production, employee incident, and coaching reports, and perform periodic evaluations of subordinates.
- Adhere to federal, state, and company regulations, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned, with predictable and reliable attendance.
Requirements
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing leadership role within custom manufacturing, electronics, or HMI industry.
- Ability to read and interpret Quality, Safety, Maintenance, and Operating procedures, as well as mechanical drawings.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and Statistical Process Control.
- Ability to define and prioritize problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
- Must be a currently licensed lift truck operator.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and manufacturing facilities as needed.

Pay
$120,000.00 - $150,000.00
