Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the site’s safety and quality management programs.
- Practice Lean Manufacturing, including Six Sigma, FMEA, and 8D Problem Analysis.
- Prepare and review production, safety, and quality reports.
- Develop action plans with team members for problem resolution.
- Establish and implement improvements for cost reduction, quality assurance, and production.
- Direct and assist with developmental or experimental activities.
- Work with employees to gather input for resolving production issues and improving efficiencies using problem-solving tools.
- Review Key Performance Indicators (Daily, Weekly, and Monthly) to ensure the facility meets departmental objectives.
- Meet with Planning and Operations team members to discuss production schedules and necessary changes.
- Work with supervision to cover vacancies for vacations or absences to fulfill production schedule requirements.
- Interface with customers and suppliers, including site visits as necessary.
- Implement proactive and corrective maintenance practices for all production equipment, including scheduling maintenance for production lines.
- Develop and ensure sites have an effective preventative maintenance program and adhere to it.
- Ensure plants meet cycle time requirements to achieve throughput objectives.
- Ensure employees are properly trained in safety, quality, and production aspects of their jobs.
- Make decisions regarding work processes, operational plans, and schedules to attain operational objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or operations management; Master’s degree desired.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in operations, maintenance, engineering, and/or process improvement roles, including managing teams.
- Previous experience working in a Lean environment.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical equipment.
- Must have Injection Molding experience.
