Production Manager
Operational Leadership
Manage daily plant operations and coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to establish and achieve production goals.
Safety & Compliance
Drive the company’s commitment to safe, compliant, and responsible operations with a target of zero process safety incidents. This includes enforcing OSHA PSM, EPA, and NFPA standards.
Process Engineering Support
- Provide hands-on technical support to operations, utilities, and maintenance personnel.
- Aid in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), risk assessments (LOPA), and Pre-startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
Quality & cGMP
Ensure all operations adhere to cGMPs and food safety policies. Review batch sheets for accuracy and manage any deviations that may compromise product integrity.
Strategic Development
- Collaborate with R&D and Business Development to support new product trials and contract manufacturing.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Participate in the development of equipment inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance.
Workforce Management
- Evaluate operator performance, manage weekly timesheets, and make recommendations for personnel actions including hiring, training, and conflict resolution.
Environmental Stewardship
- Actively participate in and facilitate team education regarding corporate and local environmental objectives and policies.
Incident Management
- Participate in root cause analyses, identify corrective actions, and assist with work permits for high-hazard activities (e.g., Lockout Tagout, Confined Space Entry).
Continuous Improvement
- Develop metrics to monitor utility costs and identify efficiency opportunities using Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or a related science field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical plant manufacturing, preferably in a shift environment.
- Extensive knowledge of process engineering, troubleshooting, engineering standards, and Management of Change (MOC).
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, SAP, and incident management systems.
- Six Sigma or Lean certification preferred.
- High Hazard Coordinator qualification (or ability to obtain) is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical activities including walking, climbing stairs/ladders, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Work is performed in an office and plant environment, including outdoor work in various ambient conditions.

- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to identify critical issues, think clearly under pressure, and formulate actionable plans to resolve multifaced problems.
- Self-starting and flexible; capable of handling heavy workloads, changing priorities, and participating in an on-call rotation as needed.
