Production Manager

Brief Description

The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards.

Essential Functions

• Understand client needs via regular communication with the Account Manager.
• Ensure that job site quality and appearance meet client and MNLSA standards.
• Manage all landscape services, including the coordination of all materials, people, equipment and subcontractors required to produce quality work.
• Inspect properties prior to scheduled service in order to properly prepare specific action plan for service.
• Adjust schedule as needed and follow up.
• Maintain and manage all required paperwork.
• Coordinate with Branch Administrator to ensure branch databases are consistently updated with current client information.
• Order materials as needed and monitor costs and deliveries.
• Request purchase orders and use in accordance with company guidelines.
• Must uphold company policies, procedures and company core values at all times.

Supervisory Responsibility

• This position supervises laborers on the field.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the Maintenance Production Manager is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, crouch, reach, stoop or kneel.
• The position is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme hot and cold conditions.
• Additional working conditions may include inadequate lighting, restricted movement and dirty/wet worksites.
• This position may be required to work on weekends, holidays and in emergency situations (“on-call” responsibilities).
• Due to seasonal nature of work, some peak load situations may arise.

Physical Demands

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects.
• The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination.
• The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
• The employee must have excellent stamina.

Travel

• Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Requirements

• 2+ years of supervisor/manager experience in the landscaping industry, commercial experience preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
• College degree in Horticulture Science or similar will be considered as a substitute to experience
• Valid Driver's License
