Production Manager

Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain donut shop operations, including production of quality baked goods according to strict deadlines.
• Train staff in English and other languages as needed, with a preference for Spanish.
• Recruit, select, orient, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
• Communicate job expectations, plan, monitor, appraise, and review job contributions.
• Plan, monitor, and appraise payroll for back-of-house staff.
• Estimate food costs and manage staff to achieve cost and profit goals.
• Control costs by reviewing portion control and quantities, minimizing waste, and ensuring high quality of preparation.
• Ensure portion control and accuracy of charges to maximize restaurant profitability.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures.
• Manage ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, linen service, glassware, and utensil quality and placement.
• Update job knowledge through participation in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
• Accept ownership for new and different requests and explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

• Must have open availability and reliable transportation.
• Must speak fluent English and have the ability to train staff in English; other languages are highly desirable, especially Spanish.
• Mastery of the Baker I, II, III, and Assistant Production Manager job descriptions.
• Ability to define problems and determine solutions.
• Ability to communicate/present information and respond to questions effectively.
• Ability to supervise and train newly hired staff effectively.
