Position Objective

The Production Manager – Westfield will oversee the production ministry and technical systems for Harvest Church's Westfield location while serving as an integral member of the centralized Production Team at the Carmel location throughout the week. This position is responsible for the planning, preparation, execution, maintenance, and ongoing development of all production systems at Westfield, including audio, video, lighting, livestreaming, networking, and related production technology. While this position will have oversight of the entire production environment, it will be audio-forward, requiring a strong technical understanding of live sound, system design, troubleshooting, and the operation of professional audio systems. The Production Manager will lead the Westfield production team and volunteers, ensuring that weekend services and events are executed with excellence while maintaining consistency with the production standards, systems, and culture established by Harvest Church. During the week, this position will work primarily from the centralized Carmel location, collaborating with the Production Team on upcoming services, projects, system development, volunteer training, equipment maintenance, and production needs across Harvest Church.

Schedule Expectations

This position will be expected to work Sundays at the Westfield location and maintain flexibility for occasional special events, rehearsals, and production needs outside of normal weekday hours.

Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in live production, with significant experience in audio.
  • Demonstrated experience operating and troubleshooting professional live audio systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of digital audio consoles (Yamaha, Midas, etc.), RF systems, signal flow, networking, DSP, microphones, monitors, and large format PA systems (L-Acoustics).
  • Working knowledge of video (Ross, Blackmagic, etc.), lighting (GrandMA), livestreaming, and other live production systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong leadership, volunteer management, and discipleship skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining aligned with the centralized Production Team.
  • Ability to manage projects, equipment, maintenance, and technical systems with attention to detail.
  • Ability to self-start and dream with the team as a whole.
  • Creativity is a must and ideas are always welcome.
  • Experience working in a church or ministry production environment preferred.
  • Professional foodie and coffee snob is preferred but not a must.

Responsibilities (Westfield Location Leadership)

  • Own the overall production environment for the Westfield location, ensuring all production systems are maintained, functional, organized, and operated to Harvest Church standards.
  • Maintain and enforce production standards at Westfield while remaining aligned with the systems, policies, and direction established by the Director of Production.
  • Lead and oversee the production team and volunteers at Westfield, including scheduling, training, development, and Sunday assignments.
  • Serve as the primary production leader at Westfield on Sundays, overseeing production from setup through teardown.
  • Ensure Sunday services and special events are executed with excellence, consistency, and minimal technical disruption.
  • Establish and maintain production processes, checklists, standards, and workflows for the Westfield location.
  • Help manage production-related budgets and recommend equipment purchases, replacements, and upgrades based on ministry needs, system reliability, and long-term planning.
  • Identify production needs (personnel, technical, fiscal) and communicate them proactively to the Director of Production.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Westfield production-related issues.

Audio Leadership

  • Provide primary technical leadership and oversight for the audio systems at Westfield.
  • Maintain and develop the FOH, monitor, wireless/RF, playback, processing, networking, and related audio systems.
  • Ensure audio systems are properly configured, maintained, documented, and operated.
  • Troubleshoot audio system issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain console files, show files, presets, routing, patching, and other system documentation.
  • Work with the centralized Production Team to maintain consistency in audio practices, standards, and system design across Harvest Church.
  • Train and develop audio volunteers when needed to operate systems confidently and effectively.
  • Assist with system design, equipment selection, installation, upgrades, and optimization.
  • Help establish best practices for gain structure, system tuning, RF coordination, signal flow, and overall audio quality.

Video, Lighting & Production Systems

  • Maintain oversight of video, lighting, livestream, presentation, networking, and other production systems at Westfield.
  • Ensure production systems are properly maintained, organized, and ready for services and events.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
  • Coordinate with the centralized Production Team when issues require additional expertise or resources.
  • Maintain accurate equipment inventories, system documentation, patching information, and technical records.
  • Assist with procurement, installation, maintenance, repair, and inventory of production equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and quality of Westfield's production systems.

Sunday Services & Events

  • Lead production operations at Westfield each Sunday from setup through teardown.
  • Conduct or oversee technical rehearsals and service preparation.
  • Ensure volunteers are properly trained, scheduled, equipped, and positioned for their responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with worship, creative, pastoral, and other ministry teams to ensure production supports the goals of each service.
  • Respond to technical issues during services and make appropriate decisions to keep services moving.
  • Provide production leadership for special events and ministry programming at Westfield as needed.
  • Provide production support for Harvest Students while working with volunteers and Director of Production to share the workload (3-5 student services during the ministry year while acting as the default fallback when volunteers become unavailable).

Responsibilities (Mid-week | Centralized Carmel Location)

  • Work primarily from the centralized Carmel location during the week.
  • Attend staff prayer every Tuesday (a very important time for the staff to stay real, transparent, and unified).
  • Participate in weekly Production, Operations, and Worship team meetings, planning, and communication.
  • Assist the Director of Production with preparation for upcoming weekend services and special events.
  • Collaborate with other Production Team members on system design, standards, training, and technical projects.
  • Assist Director of Production with system design of future locations and church plants.
  • Assist with production needs across Harvest Church locations as directed.
  • Participate in centralized volunteer training and development.
  • Help develop and maintain standardized production practices across locations.
  • Assist with equipment purchasing, inventory, maintenance, and deployment.
  • Participate in production projects and initiatives that benefit the entire church.

Centralized Volunteer Leadership & Development

  • Help recruit and develop production volunteers across the ministry.
  • Help create a culture where volunteers are trained, valued, challenged, and equipped to serve effectively.
  • Help provide consistent technical and ministry leadership to volunteers.
  • Help establish appropriate training pathways for audio, video, lighting, and other production roles.
  • Help develop volunteers toward increased technical competency and leadership responsibility.
  • Work with Director of Production to provide feedback, coaching, and accountability when necessary.
  • Maintain healthy communication and relationships with volunteers and ministry leaders.

Other Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the creative process for worship services and special events.
  • Assist with post-production of audio/video capture and distribution of livestreams and recorded content from the live production environment.
  • Assist in worship center stage design and implementation.
  • Occasionally assist with facilities-related needs as requested by the Executive Director of Operations.
  • Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by the Director of Production.
