About the role
We are seeking a results-driven Production Manager to take full operational authority over our shop floor. This role demands a structured leader who enforces operational discipline, holds staff accountable, and serves as the primary liaison between Sales, Design and Production. The ideal candidate does not need to be a deep technical specialist, but must possess strong process management skills, high standards for workplace conduct, and the confidence to lead diverse teams, maintain clear shop rules, and make tough personnel decisions when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Shop Floor Authority & Team Discipline: Hold full authority over reviews, corrective actions, write-ups, and hiring/firing decisions; enforce shop rules (punctuality, professional conduct, mobile phone usage); direct staff toward equipment maintenance, prep work, and shop cleanup during job gaps; address poor habits immediately to foster a respectful, high-performance culture.
- Exclusive Sales Firewall & Workflow Control: Act as the sole operational link between Sales, management, and shop technicians; manage job scheduling, capacity planning, and lead times to insulate production staff from interruptions; deliver clear, structured job status updates to Sales to maintain alignment.
- Process Enforcement & Tech Optimization: Enforce pre-trip checklists, staging protocols, and QC checks to prevent defective or incomplete shipments; oversee production workflows, resolve bottlenecks, and keep technical staff targeted on output goals; monitor off-site delivery and installation timelines to eliminate delays.
- Material & Equipment Oversight: Enforce material usage logs to minimize waste, scrap, and stockouts; ensure routine preventive maintenance is systematically performed on shop equipment.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5+ years supervising teams in custom manufacturing, print, signage, or a job‑shop environment.
- Leadership Authority: Proven track record executing performance improvement plans, discipline, and terminations.
