Key Responsibilities
- Supervise senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
- Manage policy deployment in areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, and on-time delivery.
- Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data.
- Direct the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of production standards.
- Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations. Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate.
- Direct and monitor department supervisors to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.
- Act as a liaison between department supervisors and subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies, and all matters that affect performance, attitude, and results.
- Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
- Ensure efficient staffing and equipment utilization of all production equipment.
- Ensure production schedule is adhered to and that operators are properly trained to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with applicable quality standards.
- Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
- Responsible for all production of cards.
- Ensure job work orders and production schedules are available and properly utilized by all production personnel.
- Ensure all operating procedures are aligned with the company's safety and security programs. Maintain and promote safe practices and procedures.
- Develop an operator cross training program which optimizes labor availability and utilization.
- Establish and maintain an operations dashboard of key performance indicators which provides the vehicle for department objectives and improvement initiatives such as process yield, on-time delivery, machine efficiency, etc.
- Maintain production performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years (or more) of relevant experience.
- Ability to relate to employees and understand their needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check own work.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Task-oriented, excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work load;
- Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances, professional demeanor, sensitive to client needs, self-motivated, creative and innovative.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
