Production Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
  • Manage policy deployment in areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, and on-time delivery.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data.
  • Direct the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of production standards.
  • Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations. Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate.
  • Direct and monitor department supervisors to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between department supervisors and subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies, and all matters that affect performance, attitude, and results.
  • Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
  • Ensure efficient staffing and equipment utilization of all production equipment.
  • Ensure production schedule is adhered to and that operators are properly trained to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with applicable quality standards.
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  • Responsible for all production of cards.
  • Ensure job work orders and production schedules are available and properly utilized by all production personnel.
  • Ensure all operating procedures are aligned with the company's safety and security programs. Maintain and promote safe practices and procedures.
  • Develop an operator cross training program which optimizes labor availability and utilization.
  • Establish and maintain an operations dashboard of key performance indicators which provides the vehicle for department objectives and improvement initiatives such as process yield, on-time delivery, machine efficiency, etc.
  • Maintain production performance and make recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years (or more) of relevant experience.
  • Ability to relate to employees and understand their needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check own work.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Task-oriented, excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work load;
  • Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances, professional demeanor, sensitive to client needs, self-motivated, creative and innovative.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
