Production Manager

About the role

The Merchants Exchange team brings over 50 years of combined experience hosting and producing special events in San Francisco. As part of a fully-verticalized event production service, you’ll work exclusively across three premier venues: Julia Morgan Ballroom, Merchants Exchange Club, and Credo Restaurant, delivering true San Francisco experiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a warm and welcoming approach to all guests, creating memorable experiences
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of spirits, cocktails, beer, and wine (preparation, techniques, taste profiles, origins, varietals, appellations, regions, aromas, etc.)
• Maintain an organized workspace to multitask efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Exceed guests’ expectations at every opportunity
• “Read” events to anticipate guests’ needs
• Respond promptly and courteously to all guest requests, questions, and concerns
• Assist fellow team members regardless of duty or difficulty
• Contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of events

Requirements

• Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience as a banquet/events bartender in a comparable setting
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask throughout service
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Self-starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervision
• Highly reliable, adaptable, and punctual
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Current California Food Handlers Certificate
• Regular access to email and the internet
• Stamina to work up to 10 hours—standing and walking for the duration of the event
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift 25+ lbs, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions
• May involve walking between departments and climbing stairs between floors
