Production Manager

Position Summary

This position has direct reporting responsibility to the plant manager and is responsible for managing production supervisors and has responsibility for all daily production activities in the hiring, leading and support of employees in a manufacturing environment. Responsible for staffing of labor, ensuring all KPI's are identified and met for all manufacturing shifts. Knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment necessary. Responsible for employee Safety, Quality and Productivity of assigned operations.

Essential Position Requirements

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to following all safety standards, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others
• Ensure that all Safety policies and procedures are in place and being followed
• Support the site leadership team including the assigning of job duties, ensuring KPI's are met and recorded daily
• Support and ensure product being produced meets Cellofoam Quality specifications and requirements
• Complete daily production reports and shift paperwork as required
• Maintain general understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures
• Verify all manufacturing production policies and procedures are met and tracked daily
• Review machine data and KPI's to ensure optimal efficiency and output are met
• Responsible for employee development – ensuring new employee on-boarding and employee performance reviews are completed
• Attend and support daily production meeting
• Responsible for the plant's master production schedule (open order scheduling and planning)
• Ensure the plant/site is maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Coach, develop, counsel, and discipline employees
• Perform other production duties as requested by supervisor
• Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve issues
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others
• Use appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding plant or employee concerns
• Maintain a working knowledge and full compliance with corporate standards for business conduct and Federal anti-trust laws
• Adhere to Cellofoam North America Inc. company focus areas: Safety, Financial, Customer, and People

Qualifications

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Associate Degree or equivalent leadership manufacturing experience.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Good communication skills
• Ability to lead, direct, train and develop employees
• Support and optimize production output driving continuous improvement
• Mechanical: General knowledge of machinery and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Ability to use and articulate measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, weigh scales)
• Quality Control and Analysis: Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
• Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
• Problem solving in fast paced environment
• Ability to delegate and manage the responsibility of others
• Facilitate team building and development of employees

Position Requirements

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years prior experience in manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and understand CAD and blueprints preferred
• Organizational, communication and team building skills
• Computer proficiency
• Flexibility in working hours to include nights, weekends and holidays as required
• Excellent time management skills
• Overtime work may be required
