About the role

The Production Manager leads two or more of Gen V Labs' core production sub departments and is accountable for the people, processes, and output that keep each running safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. We're looking for a highly motivated, organized leader who puts safety, quality, and efficiency first in every decision.

Responsibilities

  • Champion employee safety, consumer safety, and product quality as top priorities in every department decision and daily operation.
  • Comply with all required/relevant regulatory and compliance standards (state cannabis regulations, OSHA, GMP, etc.).
  • Monitor and audit accurate, timely completion of production compliance documentation across each area.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas with efficient storage of materials.
  • Build, lead, and develop each department's production teams.
  • Own the full hiring process for direct reports — interview, select, and onboard new employees.
  • Assign daily tasks and production priorities across two or more sub departments, keeping teams motivated, focused, and accountable.
  • Evaluate employee performance, conduct reviews, and coach team members to support their growth.
  • Review payroll weekly for direct reports and enforce the attendance policy.
  • Manage and resolve team conflict; foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative culture.
  • Execute production schedules for each department on time and to specification.
  • Lead using Lean/Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement, reduce waste, and standardize work across two or more sub departments.
  • Create batching sheets for blending; create and review Acumatica POs for accuracy.
  • Verify all production paperwork for accuracy and timely recording.
  • Track daily/weekly output and review results with the team; identify root causes of downtime and lead corrective action.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for two or more sub departments.
  • Serve as the technical expert for the production equipment and processes.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate to maintenance as needed; fill in on the line when necessary to keep production moving.
  • Monitor packaging and raw material inventory, notifying the Inventory Manager when supplies run low.
  • Support all movement of materials and finished goods to and from production; assist the Inventory Manager with cycle counts as needed.
  • Support new product launch, development, and evaluation in partnership with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a supervisory role with direct reports
  • 2+ years working in manufacturing (food/beverage preferred)
  • 1+ years production planning, inventory management, or similar
  • Experience with process improvement projects and Lean/Six-Sigma principals
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards (OSHA, GMP, HACCP, ISO, etc.)
  • Highly organized, with strong written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to manage competing priorities
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop cross-functional production teams
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, and an ERP system
  • Willing to work standard business hours with occasional evenings/weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, ideally spanning multiple production lines or sub departments
  • Strong technical aptitude with hands-on equipment troubleshooting experience
  • Working knowledge of GMP, SQF, GFSI, or other food/manufacturing quality systems
