About the role
You will be responsible for driving operational excellence by ensuring safety, quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery while leading cross-functional teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in die casting manufacturing, proven leadership experience, and the ability to optimize production processes to achieve world-class manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all day-to-day production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Manage production supervisors, team leaders, and hourly associates across multiple shifts.
- Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand while maximizing equipment utilization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Monitor and improve KPIs including OEE, productivity, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and HR to resolve production challenges and improve operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Analyze production data and implement corrective actions to eliminate bottlenecks and improve throughput.
- Lead root cause analysis for quality and production issues using structured problem-solving tools.
- Develop staffing plans, training programs, and succession planning for production personnel.
- Manage production budgets, labor utilization, overtime, and manufacturing costs.
- Support new product launches, process improvements, and capital equipment implementation.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, employee engagement, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role.
- Mandatory experience in aluminum die casting manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of die casting processes, secondary machining, finishing operations, and production flow.
- Experience managing large production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success improving productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, 5S, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree is a plus.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
- Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive manufacturing standards.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and other automotive quality tools.
- Experience supporting automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Pay
$120k - $135k + 10% bonus.
