About the role
The J&B Group is seeking an experienced Production Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with a proven track record of troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative and unscheduled maintenance of production equipment
- Complete related work orders and data entry tasks daily
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments on production equipment
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Work independently with a focus on prioritizing tasks, building positive relationships, and maintaining a positive disposition
- Ensure punctuality, reliability, and excellent time management skills
- Show attention to detail and adhere to GMPs and HACCP principles
- Comply with safety regulations and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Requirements
- Independent worker with strong motivation and self-starter attitude
- Team player capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, other departments, and vendors
- Adaptable with a positive disposition and the ability to handle frequent interruptions
- Punctual and dependable with excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Electro/mechanical troubleshooting skills, including reading and understanding schematics of electrical and mechanical systems
- Intermediate level typing and basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word)
- Knowledge of measuring and testing equipment (caliper, volt ohm meter, etc.)
- Physical demands include standing for the entire shift, lifting up to 30 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 60 lbs., and working in varying temperatures
Qualifications
- A mechanical or electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in production maintenance
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in using various hand and power tools
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics
- Intermediate level typing and Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and PPE usage

Pay
Starting hourly rate for this position is $24.00 per hour. Pay is based on job-related experience.
Schedule
1st shift: Monday - Friday (7:00 am - 3:30 pm)
Location
This position is located at the St. Michael facility and is full-time.
