Amentum is seeking a Production Maintenance Technician to join our team in Winston Salem, NC on 3rd shift. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM (Monday starts at 11 PM Sunday night). Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation.

About the Role

T5 Level Production Maintenance Technicians provide an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include maintaining CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and coolant systems. This role involves mentoring less skilled technicians, communicating with site management and customers to solve complex electrical and mechanical problems, and identifying safety-related issues or potential equipment failures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead other technicians in performing preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to and provide service and feedback on work orders while ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist other technicians in solving them.
  • Follow company policies and all safety regulations, including job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout procedures, and proper use of PPE.
  • Prepare and complete assigned tasks in conformance with applicable procedures.
  • Set an example in punctuality, attendance, and work ethic.
  • Coordinate work with others in discipline groups and across other disciplines.
  • Under limited direction, work in a complex technical environment using a variety of resources, including computers.
  • Train other technicians and prepare formal reports on experiments, tests, or projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to less experienced personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 6 years of experience in a related field.
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • Valid Driver’s License may be required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, and squat repetitively during shift.
  • Regularly kneel repetitively for shift.
  • Ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Stretch and reach repetitively during shift.
  • Grip and use hand tools and power tools on a regular and repetitive basis.
  • Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Differentiate colors for wire color-coding.
  • Perform tasks requiring repetitive wrist movement.
  • Interact professionally with clients despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Cope with job-related stressors to maintain acceptable levels of performance.

Pay

$36–$40 per hour.
