Production Machine Operator 1

About the role

As a Machine Operator 1, you will operate a single machine in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You must be able to communicate and work effectively in a team, follow written and verbal instructions, safely and accurately operate bakery equipment, and maintain GMP standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate various bakery equipment, including but not limited to:
• Mixer (batter, dough, icing, & cream)
• Depositor
• Oven
• Fryer
• Tumbler
• Injector
• Wrapper
• Combi
• Perform other duties as defined
• Equipment may vary by facility
• Read and follow formulations
• Calculate batter time and length
• Record batter and exceptions, compute exceptions
• Monitor two machines simultaneously and know their mixing stages
• Make batter adjustments
• Add weights together (ounces & pounds)
• Identify ingredients in and out of packing containers

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous safety training preferred
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
• Good physical condition

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit (5%), stand (40%), walk (10%), kneel/squat (20%), and bend (25%) for 12 hours
• Lift up to 50 pounds, approximately 4 times per day from floor to waist
• Reach from 10 inches (approximately 2 hours per day) and up to 60 inches (approximately 1 hour per day)
• Climb stairs approximately 8 times per day, ladders approximately 1-2 times per day, and crawl approximately 3 to 4 times per week
• Perform repetitive motion using hands and arms (approximately 1 hour per day) and back twisting (approximately 1 hour per day)
• Push/pull with the upper body approximately 5 to 6 times per day and the whole body approximately 4 to 5 times per day
• Push and pull trash carts (500 lb), dough carts (800 lb), portable equipment, and catch pans (500 lb)
• Walk on unprotected heights and catwalks occasionally every week (must not be afraid of heights)
