Production Line Inspector
Vortex Companies, LLC and its subsidiaries are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring our products meet stringent specifications and quality standards.
About the role
As a Quality Inspector, you will perform in-process and final inspections, detect defects, contain nonconforming products, and provide feedback to production teams. You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, collaborating closely with line leaders, operators, and supervisors to maintain high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Document inspection results accurately and in real time.
- Identify, isolate, and tag nonconforming product for review or rework.
- Communicate inspection results to Quality, line leaders, operators, and supervisors.
- Perform end-of-line inspection checks and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.
- Assist in verification of rework and non-conforming materials.
- Follow escalation protocols for major or recurring quality issues.
- Read construction sheets and customer requirement sheets to meet specifications.
- Assist co-workers in machine setups, wrapping, and strapping material as needed.
- Report any quality problems to Supervisor and QPA (Quality Process Auditor) immediately.
- Inspect liners for adherence to Quality Standards and repair or report faults.
- Cut samples for lab review and testing.
- Complete relevant paperwork and label liners accurately.
- Ensure printed information on liners is correct.
- Check the quality of welds on the first 5 feet of the liner and ensure all rewelds are properly welded and taped.
- Stay in assigned working area and continually review supplies, reporting shortages to the line Supervisor.
- Work safely at all times by following company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties in adherence to 5S standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience in quality or manufacturing inspection preferred.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Familiarity with basic measurement tools (e.g., tape measure).
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work independently.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Standing, lifting (up to 35 lbs), and walking for extended periods.
- Exposure to moderate noise and standard factory conditions.
Schedule
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but may include shift work, weekends, evenings, and/or holidays. Flexibility is required as job duties demand.
Pay
$17.95 USD per hour.
