Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Expedites production of priority jobs to provide on time delivery for customers.
- Aids in identifying and recommending procedures for scrap reduction.
- Reviews completed work orders for accuracy (i.e. start up, shutdown time, material usage, part counts, etc.) and resolves inaccuracies.
- Utilizes ERP system (SAP preferred) to review, transact, and monitor workflow and achievement of production goals.
- Covers employee assignments and breaks for work area personnel.
- Performs duties within technical expertise such as setting up, tearing down, or equipment operation, testing, and inspection of products.
- Ensures any operator daily checklists and tasks are completed.
- Collaborates with planning, materials, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing/delivery issues.
- Collaborates with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues, develop new products and or processes, and be involved with improvement activities.
- Provides recognition to employees.
- Aids and/or conducts employee training for effective performance.
- Aids in ensuring proper cross training is reviewed and updated accordingly.
- Aids in proactively addressing performance issues with employees.
- Adheres to Company policies and procedures.
- Provides input to Production Manager/Supervisor with employee performance reviews and corrective actions.
- Aids in coordinating effective delegation of work assignments and training.
- Aids in conducting shift meetings and coordinating mandatory training.
- Focuses on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, On Time Delivery, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness, and product/system quality.
- Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities.
- Participates actively in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc.
- Makes recommendations for safety improvements.
- Ensures EHS submissions are entered into ETQ, participates in Gemba walks and JSA audits.
- Ensures quality parts are produced for customers.
- Aids in investigating and evaluating quality defects as assigned and in determining appropriate actions to be taken.
- Aids in recommending and implementing solutions to improve quality of products.
- Promotes direct action to ensure safety of employees and visitors within company.
- Maintains work area and employees’ performance for adherence to safety procedures, work restrictions, cleanliness, and potential hazards to include correct use of hand tools, ergonomically work habits, equipment and machine operation procedure usage.
- Displays and promotes a “LEAD BY EXAMPLE” attitude.
- Ensures Entegris PACE values are followed in the production areas and throughout the organization.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand documented processes and procedures.
- Good attention to detail; ability to perform basic math computations and computer data entry.
- Ability to use measuring devices and hand tools.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb a ladder up to 4 ft., and walk and stand during entire shift.
- Ability to repetitively pinch and grasp hand tools, repetitively twist, bend, and reach upward and handle all materials required in manufacturing, etc.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Physical Requirements
- This job requires the ability to stand for long periods.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and you must be able to move throughout the department/facility.
- Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- This is a manufacturing environment. It involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and moderate to high noise levels.
- Individuals may be required to wear a bunny suit for long periods at a time in a clean room environment.
- Wearing safety glasses and Nitrile Gloves are also required.
- Other safety garments or protection may need to be worn, depending on the nature of the work area.
- Exposure to metal powders, isopropyl alcohol, and Di water.
